WOW!!!!!! We are doing lots of great work. After 3 days of work we have completed 2 footbridges, a terrace garden, a stone patio/walkway, started a wooden gate, and have done tons of plumbing in the bathroom.
Yesterday we roamed far and wide to gather rocks to build the terrace garden. Ultimately what ended up happening was that rocks were on one side of a wall, and needed to be on the other side of the wall so we could haul them the 200 yards or so in a wheelbarrow to the work area. Joshua and I solved the problem by a very unique method. Joshua stood on top of the wall (4 ft tall wall) and I would toss the rocks up to him and he would throw them to a pile where Kristy and Bevin would load into the wheelbarrow. I was tossing large rocks up to 10-15 feet to Joshua, who caught every one of them. I got elected for the tossing up the wall because I was the only one of the 4 of us who wasn´t freaking out by the 3-inch long cockroaches or the humongous spiders and other various bugs under the rocks.
We have had 2 different evenings of singing praise songs with the girls. It is the most spirit-filled time that I have ever experienced!!! God is doing great things in the lives of these girls. It is so awesome to listen to the girls praising God in their native language and then we can sing the same song in English back to them. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it!!!
Tomorrow Bevin, Kristy, and I plan to begin the process of painting the interior of the girls´ home. It will be a most wonderful day of spending time with all of the girls and helping to accomplish a major task for the mission.
This trip has been most enjoyable and God has shown me a lot of things. I wish I had the time to share them all here.
Adios, mis amigos! When I get a chance I will write more.
